Education and Research Network (SEANERN): Who Are We

SEANERN is a regional network of nursing school deans, senior faculty, and researchers, founded in 2015 by the Chiang Mai University Faculty of Nursing to meet, share, and align education quality and strengthen cooperation across ASEAN and East Asia. SEANERN's member countries and regions represent a significant share of the world's population — a scale that makes coordinated nursing education and workforce planning essential to regional health security.

VISION

A Southeast and East Asian region where nursing education, research, and practice are harmonized, mutually recognized, and collectively strengthened, enabling nurses to move, learn, and lead across borders.

Rooted in the 2015 founding at Chiang Mai University, in response to the ASEAN Economic Community and the 2006 ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Nursing Services.

MISSION

  • Harrmonize nursing curricula and quality standards across member countries.Promote
  • Collaborative, multi-national nursing research.
  • Strengthen clinical skills and faculty development through shared programmes.
  • Support cross-border professional mobility for nurses and nurse educators.
